Most South African national parks will waive conservation entry fees for eligible local day visitors during SA National Parks Week, September 7–13.
South African citizens must show valid identification, including identification for children. The offer covers day entry only; accommodation, guided activities, game drives and other paid experiences remain chargeable.
Dates and exclusions vary. Kruger, West Coast and Augrabies Falls offer free access only through September 11. Namaqua National Park, Boulders Penguin Colony and the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway are excluded. Individual parks may also apply capacity limits or local conditions.
SANParks says more than 105,000 visitors used the program in 2025. Anyone planning a trip should check the specific park’s dates and requirements before leaving rather than assuming the national schedule applies everywhere.
