Booderee National Park’s entry upgrade is welcome, but truly accessible parks require more than smooth paths.
Good access also means clear wayfinding, rest areas, affordable transport, usable information and consultation with people who experience barriers firsthand. Conservation remains essential, and carefully designed access can protect habitat by guiding visitors onto durable routes. Agencies should publish accessibility goals and report whether projects actually improve the visitor experience.
